Match Notes
John Campbell (Eastern Suburbs) was cut over the eye by a flying boot and had to leave the field. He was replaced by White. Herbert Messenger (Eastern Suburbs) hit the crossbar with a penalty goal attempt, and missed a drop goal attempt in the second half. Eastern Suburb's penalty try was awarded when Strickland broke through the line, kicked past the fullback and was illegally interfered with. Messenger missed the conversion attempt, leaving the scores at 8-all. After this point Frawley and Messenger (Eastern Suburbs) and Joass and Mueller (Western Suburbs) were sent off.
