At halftime Balmain replaced Arthur Beetson, Greg Fryer, Keith Outten & George Ruebner with Joe Walsh, Geoff Connell, Alan Fitzgibbon & Sid Williams. Hal Browne was injured in the 2nd half and had to leave the field leaving Balmain a player short.
Norm Thomas replaced Merv Hicks at half time, Thomas was then knocked out 2 mins into the 2nd half and Hick came back on to replace him.
