At halftime Balmain replaced Arthur Beetson, Greg Fryer, Keith Outten & George Ruebner with Joe Walsh, Geoff Connell, Alan Fitzgibbon & Sid Williams. Hal Browne was injured in the 2nd half and had to leave the field leaving Balmain a player short.
