- John Hopoate was suspended for 17 matches after a sickening high shot on Keith Galloway in the 30th minute. After the suspension was handed out he was sacked by the Sea Eagles and subsequently announced his retirement, effective immediately. Manly were leading 24-0 at the time - Greg Bird was suspended for two matches for a dangerous throw
