Your Say

Fred Gilbert is my grandfather. He passed away to early, but so very proud of his achievements as a footballer, but more importantly as a wonderful dad to my mum and grandfather fora short time. His journal, he jeligously kept on tour, is a work of art. Very special memories.
My grandfather played for Australia with honour and pride. He won dinner sets and crystal vases for his prowess on the field. He, and family were proud of him, regardless of winnings. BUT, he also gave back to the game and community that supported him on his journey.
I think my grandfather would be turning in his grave, with the money, arrogance and entitlement of some players in today’s era.
Bring back the passion with money as a second I say.
