Biography

Wests winger, a try-scorer in the club's 1952 grand final win over Souths, later coached the Magpies in three consecutive grand final losses to St George in 1961-63. Fitzgerald had spent some time as a lower grade coach with the club (1957-60) before taking over the first grade role for four years. He passed away after a short illness, age 40, in 1965.
